The area’s Filipino culture will be well represented in Clark County’s television and podcast series.

According to a news release shared by the Clark County government, Filipino society will be featured on "Cultures of Las Vegas."

Debuting on Clark County Television on Wednesday, June 1 at 2 and 6 p.m. “Cultures of Las Vegas: The Filipinos” will focus on the community and run until the end of the month. On June 12, the Philippines celebrates its independence.

"I grew up watching Ate (big sister) Marie on television whenever my family put on the news,” said Clark County Asian-American Pacific Islanders Community Commission Chairman Craig Valdez. “This felt surreal and reminded me just how important representation is."

Similar content will be made available on Clark County’s “Cultures of Las Vegas” podcast available on your smartphone device, according to the release.

“I hope viewers of Clark County TV will see the multi-faceted way the community shows up in all corners of Las Vegas and Southern Nevada,” said Marie Mortera, an anchorwoman and reporter for KSNV News 3 Las Vegas. “At the same time, I believe this episode of 'Cultures of Las Vegas' will reflect how our shared passion for our culture brings us together in meaningful ways, especially through food, dance, song and shared vision."

“Cultures of Las Vegas: The Filipinos” debuts on Clark County Television on Wednesday, June 1 at 2 and 6 p.m. and will be throughout the month. The Philippines celebrates its independence on June 12.
